Drivers & Proof of Address Don't Match

Have you recently moved which means your proof of address doesn’t match your drivers licence?

It is a requirement not only of our insurers but also a law that your drivers licence be registered to your current address. We will need these to match in order to add you to our insurance.  You therefore have the following options:

Apply Online or Apply By Post

1. Apply Online

Change the address on either:

• Your full driving licence
• Your provisional driving licence

It does not cost anything to change your address with DVLA. You can still drive while you’re waiting for your new licence.

Please Note!

If you use this method, please ensure to grab a screenshot of the final stage which confirms the address you're changing to. We will need this to go along with your proof of address. See the example screenshot below.

You can be fined up to £1,000 if you do not tell DVLA when your address changes.

Visit the DVLA/GOV.uk website for more info on how to apply.

2. Apply By Post

You can also change the address on your licence by post. The process is different depending on whether you have a photocard or paper driving licence.

It’s taking longer than usual to process applications sent by post because of coronavirus (COVID-19).

Please Note!

If you use this method - please be mindful of current time frames given by the DVLA to make sure you will receive your licence back in time.

Things to note:
1)
Ensure you take a photo of the front & back of your drivers before posting it off.
2) We may need to refer you to our insurers for approval. This may take 2-4 working days so please ensure you do this as soon as possible.
